Shizuko is a 14 year old student from Mukaihara high school, she lives with her parents (Asako, Seiya) and her sister (Shiho), She's best friends with Yuko Harada as well. Shizuko loves to read and is keen on writing stories, one evening Shizuko finds a Libary card and realises that someone checks out the same books (its a boy called Seiji Amasawa) .

One day she meets a boy, who reveals to Seiji which makes Shizuko mad because he annoys her a lot. Shizuko sees a cat on the train which she follows it, the cat leads her to an antique shop, In the shop theres a cat statuette ( Baron). When Shizuko gets home, she gets a call from Suko who is very upset with Sugimara because he likes Shizuko but he doesn't know that Suko likes him, Shizuko and Sugimara ended up arguing and Shizuko ends up turning him down.

Shizuko goes back into the Antique shop and sings (Takes me home, Country Road) which she's translating for her school graduation, she accompanied with Seiji and Nishi (owns the shop) . Sieji reveals that Nishi is his grandfather which lead to Shizuko and Seiji arguing. Seiji is very talented in making violins and is travelling to Italy to study with a master- Violin maker for 2 months, This Challenges Shizuko to follower her dreams as a writer .Shizuko tells Yuko that's she going to be a pursue her dreams as being a writer, she asked Nishi if she can write about the Baron and he allowed it but only if it can read it when its finished.

Shizuko story is about the Baron ( Hero) and herself( Protagonist) finding the Barons lost love (Louise)  and the cat from the train ( Muta, Moon) as the villain has taken Louise. As Shizuko is so focused on the story she eats snack food,  stays up till early in the morning and her grades have dropped , Shizuko and her family argue about grades but she wanted to finish the book before Seiji gets back.

When finishing the book, she gives it to Nishi and he gives her advice on how to improve however she starts crying due to the stress of the last 2 months. Nishi gives her food to calm her down and revealed that when he studied in Germany in his youth, He met his first love (Louise). They both had cat statuette and hopefully reunite later in life however World War 2 they separated and never saw each other again.

Shizuko decided to study more at high school and would study for her exam full time, Nishi drove her home. Early in the morning, Shizuko gets woken up by Sieji which they both go on a bike ride to the lookout to see the sunrise.

Sieji confesses his love for Shizuko and proposes for a future marriage which she accepts.
